 About Youth Impact Development Association (YIDA):

Youth Impact Development Association is a volunteer-based Ethiopian charity organization dedicated to ensure the wellbeing of highly vulnerable children and youth by serving their physical, emotional and intellectual needs through integrated family empowerment interventions. Currently the organization is implementing a three-year project intervention in the four sub-cities of Addis Ababa city administration and is looking for an energetic, creative and self-motivated ICT Officer, who can make a positive and tangible impact on the organizational system of Youth Impact by supporting the use of information and communication technologies.

Job Overview:

The overall goal of the ICT Officer’s position is build effective ICT systems and infrastructure to help transform program and administrative operations of the organization and play key role in organizational competency and effectiveness. It is therefore a fantastic opportunity for those who would like to practice system-level initiatives by applying their analytical and creativity skills.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Specific duties of the ICT officer include:
  • Manage the overall technology infrastructure for the Organization including planning, implementation, and management of the software and hardware infrastructure that support administrative and program operations
  • Act as the principal administrator and ensure the maintenance of the Organization’s systems, including: general computer support; software installations; networks and server set up and management; database administration; network, printers, audio/video conferencing and mobile phone support; deployment of equipment; management of inventories and disaster recovery
  • In-depth evaluation of ICT capacity of organization, identification of gaps and new areas where computerization is advantageous and applicable and recommendation of applicable systems and software packages to use
  • Propose and design effective data administration systems throughout the operation of the organization
  • Administer digital platforms of the organization and create digital contents and graphic presentations to be used for promotional and communication purposes
  • Provide user training (staff and beneficiaries) on common business applications and use of systems.
  • Establishment of control systems to ensure that all information technology equipment is maintained regularly and in proper working condition.
  • Develop and update IT processes and procedural manuals, and ensure they are properly documented.
  • Support the procurement process for IT equipment and services.
  • Undertake such other duties as may be requested by the supervisor

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT-related field (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Networking, Programming, and Information Systems)
  • Significant work experience in a directly related field combined with appropriate training/certificates is an advantage.
  • Fresh graduates who passed the national Exit Exam and who believe they have the required specific skills and knowledge for the position can apply
